Privacy Policy — Deals On The Go

This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile application Deals On The Go ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use it. The App is published by Prasad Udupa.

1. What we collect

When you use the App, you provide the following information:

Origin and destination text — typed or selected by you (for example, "JFK · New York · USA" and "DEL · Delhi · India").
Saved trips — when you tap "Save Trip", the origin/destination pair and the AI-generated recommendation are stored in our database so you can revisit them later.

2. What we DO NOT collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

Your name, email address, phone number, or any contact information.
Your device location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera data.
Advertising identifiers (IDFA), tracking cookies, or device fingerprints.
Analytics or behavioral data of any kind.
Payment information — the App is currently free with no purchases.

The App does not require you to create an account or sign in.

3. Third-party services

To generate shopping recommendations, the App sends your origin and destination text to OpenAI's API. OpenAI processes the text to generate a recommendation and returns it to the App. The text you submit is governed by OpenAI's privacy practices, which you can read here:

Per OpenAI's API terms, content sent through the API is not used to train OpenAI's public models.

4. Data storage and security

Saved trips are stored in a MongoDB database hosted by MongoDB Atlas, accessed only by our backend server hosted on Render. Communications between the App and our backend use HTTPS encryption.

5. Your rights

Delete saved trips: You can delete any saved trip at any time directly from within the App.
Full data deletion: To request deletion of all data associated with your usage, email us (see Contact below).
No account = no profile: Because we do not collect identifying information, there is no user profile or account associated with you.

6. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can remove it.

7. International users

The App may be used worldwide. By using the App, you consent to the transfer and processing of your input text by OpenAI's servers (currently in the United States) and to storage of saved trips on our servers.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
